Methodist Hospital – known by many as "Main Methodist," has the largest volunteer brigade, with about 340 in the program. But "Blue Birds," as they're known, serve three facilities: Main Methodist, Methodist Children's Hospital (housed in the same complex as Main Methodist) and Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital, located nearby in the Medical Center.
Established as the "Blue Birds of Laurel Heights" by a small church group in 1920.
The Blue Birds aim to accomplish:
-
Service to Others
-
Selflessness
-
Fellowship
The Blue Bird Auxiliary is honored to serve the community and create a network of life-long companions. We believe that by making others smile, we make our own days brighter.
